Wine tasting… here I come!

I must be insane. I just decided to post my picture next to one of the most gorgeous women alive (of course, this is my modest opinion!).

Monica Bellucci is an icon in the Italian cinema panorama. I especially appreciate her for the simple choices that she makes when it comes to fashion (most of the time). She is one of the major inspirations for Dolce & Gabbana, and she has a killer body that is NOT anorexic!

For tonights Wine Tasting at the new Cantoro Market, I decided to wear something dark (I love red wine and needed something spill-proof ).

I’m currently in the mode of wearing some menswear-inspired looks. That’s why I remembered Monica. She wears a lot of pantsuits. A pantsuit can be a great solution as an office attire, or could be a classic, sexy option for the evening when you wear it with a lace corset under the jacket.

A pair of killer shoes also helped to accomplish my mission for the night: classy, trendy, and a little bit sassy!

What’s the most popular color of the holidays?

Most of you would probably say RED!

I have noticed that many women, who usually wear black and white all year around, are deciding to stretch their box and add a splash of red during the last two weeks of December.

Not me! Maybe it’s because I don’t like to follow the trends, or maybe it’s because I like to discover new frontiers, but this season I’m wearing a lot of BLUE for the holidays.

Blue is one of my favorite colors and, for some reason, I feel great when I wear it… especially the darker shades.

In psychology, blue is the color of trust and peace, the color of tranquility and loyalty. Why not add some of these things to your life via your wardrobe?

Here are some ideas for holiday outfits:

A fun flared skirt with a simple top (or a silky blouse)

-a blue motorcycle leather jacket

-a blue velvet blazer

-a skirt with blue details

You can wear it with off white, burgundy, green, black and metallic, but you need to pick the right shades of those colors!

If this is too much, look for accessories: shoes, handbag, necklaces, etc.

Have fun with colors…life is too short to wear only black 🙂

Be stylish…Be creative!

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is well known for being very savvy. She is so stylish and elegant in every public appearance. I surely do like her style, a good compromise between the royal standards and the young girl that comes from the labor class.

She likes to re-wear (is it a real word?) the same clothes more than once and she knows how to do it!

The secret is called…accessorize!

I rarely wear my clothes in the same combination twice, because I like to reinvent my wardrobe trying new blends.

That’s my FORTE!

When I work in my client’s wardrobe, I usually create between 20-30 new looks with their existing garments in 2-3 hours.

Hour Detroit Best Dressed Celebration at the Filmore Theater

I call myself a fashion adviser.

I refuse to purchase a dress that I’m going to wear only once. Most of my purchases are carefully planed.
This wonderful cocktail dress by Pronovias Barcelona was purchased a few years ago at Roma Sposa Notte in Birmingham.
I wore it a lots of times. (Even my nieces borrowed it from me☺)

But I don’t like to wear it in the same way, so for the Hour Detroit Best Dressed party I decided to wear the dress with black tights, black booties with some gold details, and a dark purple clutch from LKBennett, The long vintage gloves and the black fur cape (which you can’t see in the picture☺ ) are from Chi Chi and the Greek in Waterford.

The event took place in the marvelous Filmore Theater in Detroit. I love the Filmore and I love Detroit…my city!
